Kate Hinote of the Detroit-based band, The Blueflowers, talks about her experience working with Milena:

"I started lessons with Milena at the tail-end of my recovery from a vocal injury I had suffered from, that resulted in many trips to the ENT and vocal therapy. I had spent years taking my voice for granted, including never warming up, and it turned out that meeting Milena at this time was crucial to my recovery. She was very patient and sweet (not to mention, funny) and I learned invaluable tools from my lessons with her, including how essential warming up is and how to sing with less strain while just letting the sound out. My confidence had been shaken after the injury and, being in a band, I had other people relying on me to get better and get back to singing. Most fortunately, as a result of my lessons with Milena, my voice ended up stronger and more reliable than it had been before the injury and I'm much more confident on stage that it's not just going to fail me randomly in front of a lot of people that came to hear me perform. I should also mention that my range expanded, both upper and lower. I sing notes live now that I would never have even attempted before because I'm so much more confident that they will come out without fail. I also appreciate my voice much more and take much better care of it. I highly recommend singers at any stage in their craft take lessons with Milena, but I certainly wish I'd met her long ago so I could have been using the knowledge she'd given me before my vocal injury and perhaps avoided it."

Hugh Fader, a Metro Detroit singer-songwriter, and 2008 Great Lakes Songwriting Contest Finalist had this to say:

Working with Milena on my voice was a very positive experience with a great outcome. She quickly determined my aptitude and my goals and lessons and exercises were focused on efficiently getting me to a higher performance level. Her enthusiasm and persistence and the comfortable environment of her studio kept me highly motivated. Also helpful was the physiological information she provided about how vocal sounds are produced. The beautiful thing is that about a year after an 8 week course, I have internalized and retained the vast majority of what I learned from her."

High school students Andrea Clarke and Ellen Roney worked with Milena towards the goal of preparing for music school auditions and wanted to share their experiences:

Andrea, who now attends Case Western Reserve and the Cleveland Institute of Music, "I worked with Milena Thomas throughout high school and she not only is fun and caring but she also helped me to start my career as a musician. Milena is extremely educated and knows how to prepare anyone's voice for any performance or audition. Also, Milena has an extensive knowledge of musical theory and repertoire to help get anyone started. She has prepared me more than I could have imagined and I hope you will give her the opportunity to do the same for you!"

Ellen Roney, who now attends Bowling Green State University: "I have worked with Milena for two years now, and she puts her heart into helping her students succeed. She dealt with me when at times I would be unprepared or I hadn't practiced, with patience, and she helped me prepare for my college auditions; I got into the college I wanted and it was because of my lessons with her. I am now a freshman at Bowling Green State University majoring in vocal/music education."
